Freedom School

 The CDF Freedom Schools® program provides enrichment that helps children develop a love of reading, increases their self-esteem, and results in students having a more positive attitude toward learning.The program is operated in the summer and  during the school year.  It utilizes a  research based model curriculum that   supports children and families around 5 essential components: high quality academic enrichment; parent and family involvement; civic engagement and social action; intergenerational leadership development; and nutrition, health and mental health. The Memphis Urban League begins accepting applications for scholars to register for Freedom Schools in late February.
