Get Involved with the Memphis Urban League
The Memphis Urban League maintains a current and up-to-date list of functions which can be performed by volunteers who want to change life outcomes for disadvantaged people. You can gain access to this list by contacting the MUL by telephone, letter or e-mail at www.mphsurbanleague.org. Further, the MUL always needs increased financial support to broaden the scope of its services. Contributions are invited by the MUL and are tax-deductible. Volunteers are also needed to assist with training, development and marketing.
Individual membership in the Memphis Urban League can be obtained in the following categories:
Youth & Senior - Discounted $10.00 (Entitled to membership card, quarterly newsletter and one vote at Annual meeting.)
Regular - $20.00 (Entitled to membership card, quarterly newsletter and one vote at Annual meeting.)
Contributing - $50.00 (Entitled to membership card, quarterly newsletter, one vote at Annual meeting, copies of special brochures on current issues (by request), current issue of the NUL Opportunity Magazine and an Urban League pin.)
Sustaining - $100.00 (Entitled to membership card, quarterly newsletter, one vote at Annual meeting, copies of special brochures on current issues (by request), current issue of the NUL Opportunity Magazine and an Urban League pin, and the current issue of the State of Black America.)
The League's Annual Dinner Meeting is its primary fundraising activity each year and provides an opportunity to update the membership on the results of our programs over the past year. This meeting is a major effort to remain accountable to the public for the conduct of the business of the MUL.
Categories for corporate support at the Annual Dinner Meeting are listed below:
Corporate Underwriter - $3,000 - includes a Golden Circle certificate of corporate membership, ten passes to the Pre-dinner Reception (Annual Dinner Meeting), ten tickets to a Golden Circle table (close to the front), a membership card issued to each of the ten persons seated at the table, a picture of the attendees at the dinner under the company logo, a program listing as a corporate underwriter, and a copy of the most recent issue of The State of Black America.
Golden Circle Corporate Membership - $1,200 - includes a Golden Circle Certificate of corporate membership, ten passes to the Pre-dinner Reception (Annual Dinner Meeting), ten tickets to a Golden Circle table (close to the front), a membership card issued to each of the ten persons seated at the table, a program listing as a Golden Circle sponsor, and a copy of the most recent issue of The State of Black America.
Basic Corporate Membership - $750 - includes a certificate of corporate membership and 10 tickets to the Annual Dinner Meeting with membership cards issued to each of the ten persons seated.
